Mary J. Schneider

Mary J. Schneider, 72, of Malone, passed away on November 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 13, 1952 in Fond du Lac County to Gordon and Rosalia (Casper) Pitzen.

Mary attended New Holstein High School before marrying Joe, the love of her life for 50 years, on September 14, 1974. Mary was a proud graduate of Moraine Park Technical College, where she received her associate degree in accounting, all while raising three growing boys. She enjoyed her role in accounting, working at places such as Silica, Thome Electric and Tecumseh, finishing her career at Agnesian Healthcare.

Mary found joy and fulfillment in the love of family and the bonds of friendship. She loved to cook, welcoming everyone to join them for meals and always insisted that there would be no leftovers. Mary enjoyed curling up with a blanket and a good book or listening to music, especially the songs of Neil Diamond. Her grandchildren kept her days full where she enjoyed baking with them and attending their many activities, she was always their biggest fan. Mary’s favorite place to be was in Crivitz at their cabin, playing cribbage and watching her loved ones make memories. When Mary wasn’t with her children or grandchildren she could often be found testing her luck on their casino “pilgrimages”, playing cards with friends or traveling with Joe. Mary enjoyed the beauty of nature and had a house full of plants and flowers that she loved to tend to.

Mary will be dearly missed by her husband Joe; sons Joshua (Laura) Schneider of Mt. Calvary, Jeremy (Angela) Schneider of Malone, Luke (Karissa) Schneider of Malone; grandchildren Holden, Josephine, Frances, Kaleana, Nolan and Everly; and brothers Jim (Mary) Pitzen of Eden and Ron Pitzen of Williams Bay. Mary also will be missed by her in-laws, nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and mother and father-in law, Alphonse & Shirley Schneider.
