Michael Thomma

Michael Thomma, 79, passed away at Gunderson Health in La Crosse on January 20, 2025 with his family by his side. He was born in Fond du Lac to the late John and Viola (Konen) Thomma on October 16, 1945.

Mike graduated from L.P. Goodrich High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Army. He worked at Mercury Marine for almost 40 years until his retirement.

Mike loved the outdoors, was an avid hunter and fisherman plus enjoyed hiking and camping. He belonged to several archery and bowling leagues.

Mike was involved in his kid’s activities as a Cub Scout pack leader and youth soccer coach.

Family was important to Mike. He enjoyed being with his children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews. He always made time for his family, whether it was attending concerts and games, or other important events. In addition, Mike was married to Roberta Jo “Bobbi” Lowe for 13 years and remained friends.

Mike loved his time with his hunting and fishing buddies. Wednesdays were a day he especially enjoyed, as he and his friends, “The Breakfast Club,” got together for breakfast.

Mike is survived by his four children Patti (Mike) Sabel, Michael (Beth) Thomma, James (Anna) Thomma and Vicki (Bryan) Marshall; grandchildren Noah and Tori Sabel; Kait and Mackenzie Thomma; Henryk and Helen Thomma; Colton, Gabe, Trevor and Addy Marshall; siblings Mary Ann Smith, Carol Thomma (Jerry Seipel), Thomas Thomma (Matthew Faucher) and Anthony (Lynn) Thomma; sister-in-law Dee Thomma, numerous nieces and nephews and his former wife, Bobbi Thomma.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, brother Stephen Thomma, and sisters Patricia (Robert) Moses and Joan (Harry) Crosses.

Mike’s family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac from 10:00 AM to Noon. A Celebration of Michael’s life will begin at Noon.
