Raymond “Pee Wee” Thompson
Raymond “Pee Wee” Thompson, of Fond du Lac, passed away Tuesday, May 9th, 2023, at St. Agnes Hospital.
He was born October 2nd, 1936, in Fond du Lac to Raymond and Myrtle (Anderson) Thompson. Raymond graduated from Fond du Lac High School in 1955. After graduating high school, Raymond proudly served in the United States Navy. On August 17th, 1957, he married his high school sweetheart Melede Ingram at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Fond du Lac. Together, they shared almost 66 years of marriage. His career consisted of working at Equifax, Hansen Refrigeration, and Fastenal.
Raymond enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved them very much. He loved supporting his children and grandchildren in their activities. He enjoyed many years of fishing trips to northern Wisconsin, hunting, and golfing, and was a Lost Arrow Archery Club member. Raymond also enjoyed playing cards, trips to the casino, and a whiskey Manhattan with a cherry.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Melede (Ingram) Thompson of Fond du Lac; children, Brian (Renae) Thompson of Fond du Lac and Kevin Thompson of Sarasota, Florida; grandchildren, Kylee Thompson of Fond du Lac, and Emily Thompson of Arizona; sister-in-law, Edith Miller of Anchorage, Alaska; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Myrtle Thompson; siblings, Dolores (Eugene) Coller, Jean (Richard) Welch, Tom (Noleen) Thompson, Howard (Coralie) Thompson; mother and father-in-law, Fred and Marie Ingram; and brothers-in-law Fred “Brad” Ingram and Carl Miller.
Raymond’s family invites friends and relatives to Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac, for a Celebration of Ray’s Life on Thursday, May 18th at 11:30 a.m. Visitors are welcome from 10:00 a.m. to the time of services. Ray will be laid to rest in Ledgeview Memorial Park.
