Richard Pipping
Richard “Dick” Pipping, 89, of Fond du Lac, left this earth
to be with his Lord and wife, Doris, on March 21, 2017. Dick was born the
youngest of 13 children to Herman Sr. and Martha Lueders Pipping on December
30, 1927. On September 30, 1950 Dick married the love of his life Doris M.
Hochrein at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac of whom he often said, “I
could have traveled the world over and never found a better wife.”
Dick graduated from high school at the end of his junior
year and joined the U.S. Army. He served
in Europe as a military N.C.O. in the Intelligence Section as an Interrogator
for 27 months, as he was fluent in German. Dick also served during the Korean
War with the 291st Engineer Reserve Unit. Dick was proud of his
military service obtaining the rank of Master Sargeant.
Dick worked 27 years as a route salesman for Verifine Dairy
and Dick Brother’s Bakery. He finished his working years with the Fond du Lac
School District. He is a former member of Teamsters Local 200 and AFSCME 1382G.
Dick is survived by one daughter, Catherine Pipping of
Oshkosh; grandpa’s boys, Gabriel, Ezra and Indy, and his loving farm family of
Oshkosh. He is further survived by his good friends Jerry Butzler and Dave
Candlish, other relatives and friends.
Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, five sisters,
Anna, Hertha, Emma, Dorothy and Martha, and seven brothers, Herman, William,
Otto, Carl, Walter, Reinhold, and Helmuth.
Visitation: The
family will receive relatives and friends at the Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E.
Division St., Fond du Lac on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 10:30 to 11:15 AM.
Services: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at the Zacherl Funeral Home on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 11:30 AM. Entombment will follow the service at the
Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum.
Dick’s family would like to thank the Aurora Medical
