Shirley Ann Schneider
Shirley Ann Schneider, 87, a resident of the Villa Rosa, passed
away on Friday, December 19, 2014. She
was born the daughter of Robert G. and Josephine (Heus) Sabel on August 29,
1927 in St. Peter,
of
Shirley Ann married Alphonse A. Schneider in St. Peter on
October 27, 1948 by Father Kastner. She
was a member of Holy Family Parish, St. Peter and a member of the Christian Women’s
Society.
Shirley Ann, along with raising eight children, helped her
husband in operating the family business, Silica Hardware, doing a lot of the
trucking freight when they went into business in 1951. Before her marriage, she worked for Infant
Socks. She attended school at St. Peter
and
Shirley Ann, with her husband, enjoyed traveling in Europe
and many other continents, especially week long bus trips in the
especially loved playing cards.
Mrs. Schneider is survived by her husband Alphonse and eight
children: Robert (Mary) of
Kenneth (Joyce) of Johnsburg, Joseph (Mary) of Malone, Gerald (Shelly) of
du Lac
and Thomas (Fiancee Cindy) of
Lac
the proud grandmother of 25 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother-in-law Roman
(Marcie) Schneider and sister-in-law, Virginia Schneider; nieces, nephews,
other relatives and many friends.
Preceding Shirley Ann in death are her parents, three
sisters, Geraldine and Virginian Sabel and Marie (Bill) Fisher; brother and
sisters-in-law Bernard (Marion) Schneider, Adolph Schneider, Roger (Marilyn)
Schneider, Athaline Schneider, Crescentia (Gilbert) Schmitz, Helena (Paul)
Giebel, Dorothy (Alex) Hefter, Loretta (Fred Zwicky and Imelda (Edward) Nett.
Visitation: The family will receive relatives and friends
at the Zacherl Funeral Home,
E. Division Street
on Sunday, December 21, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM. There will also be visitation on Monday,
December 22, at St. Peter Catholic Church in the
from 12:00 noon until 1:45 PM.
Service: At 2:00 PM a Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated in St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial will follow in
Memorials in her name are preferred, and may be directed to
the Villa Loretto, Holy Family Parish or St. Mary’s
