Sister Ancilla Lengerich, CSA

Sister
Ancilla Lengerich, CSA, (Teresa Mary Lengerich) died peacefully on November 17,
2014, at St. Francis Home, Fond du Lac, WI.

Teresa Mary
was born in Decatur, IN, on June 11, 1920, to Clement Lengerich and Catherine
Gase Lengerich.  She was one of five
children, one boy and four girls.  Two of
her sisters also entered religious life, becoming Our Lady of Victory
Missionary Sisters, and one sister married; her brother was ordained a priest
for the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, IN.

She made her
profession of vows as Sister Ancilla in the Congregation of Sisters of St.
Agnes on August 15, 1939.  She received her
diploma from St. Agnes School of Nursing in 1942 and a Certificate in Operating
Room Techniques in 1943.  Sister
ministered as a supervisor and nurse in operating and emergency rooms for 60
years at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, WI; St. Clare Hospital, Monroe, WI; and
St. Anthony Hospital, Hays, KS.  She was
also a nurse on the staff of Nazareth Heights Infirmary in Fond du Lac for two
years. After retiring from hospital ministry, Sister Ancilla volunteered at St.
Francis Home for 13 years. During the past summer, Sister Ancilla gratefully
celebrated 75 years as a Sister of St. Agnes.

Sister was preceded
in death by her parents Clement Lengerich and Catherine Gase Lengerich, and her
sister Sister Rosella Lengerich, OLVM.

Sister is
survived by her sisters Rita (James) Weber and Sister Dorothy Ann Lengerich,
OLVM; her brother Monsignor Vincent Lengerich; and the Sisters of St. Agnes,
with whom she lived, prayed and ministered.

Visitation
for Sister Ancilla will be Thursday, November 20, 2014, at 9:30 a.m., at Nazareth
Court and Center, 375 Gillett Street, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.  A prayer service will be held at 11:00 a.m.
in Nazareth Community Room.

A Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Nov. 20, 2014, in St.
Francis Home Chapel, 33 Everett Street, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.  The presider will be Father Ken Smits,
Capuchin.  Burial will follow at St.
Joseph Springs Cemetery.

The Sisters
of St. Agnes are grateful to the nurses and staff of Nazareth Court and
Center/St. Francis Home and Hospice Hope for their care of Sister Ancilla in
her last years.
