Stanley (Stan) Peter Birschbach

Stanley (Stan) Peter Birschbach, 80 of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2022, at his home surrounded by family. Stan was born on January 24, 1942 in Fond du Lac to Francis and Olivia (Michels) Birschbach. Stan graduated in the class of 1960 from Rosendale High School. He served in the US Army from 1962-1964 stationed in Germany. On September 12, 1964, Stan married the love of his life Edith (Edie) Sippel at Holy Cross Church in Mount Calvary. Stan and Edie were blessed with 58 years of marriage, 5 children, and 13 grandchildren.

Stan was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He had a tender heart that was apparent in all he did for his family. He was a hard worker which was evident in the 40 years he spent as a Superintendent for Hutter and C.D. Smith Construction Companies. In his retirement years he enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities, woodworking for his family and friends, camping, spending time in “the woods”, traveling with family and friends, and spending time with family. He was die hard Wisconsin sports fan, he never missed a Packer game. Stan was a good friend to all with a warm smile and gentleness to follow.

Stan is survived by his wife Edie; 5 children, Brian (Edita) Birschbach, Jill Sanchez, Ann (Marc) Edmunds, Brett (Sheri) Birschbach, and Staci (Jay) Salzmann; 13 grandchildren, Katerina (Connor), Nicholas, Natalie, Dominic, Gabriel, Luke, Livia, Makena, Ella, Sophie, Aaron, Elijah, and Devyn; brothers, Donald (Janice) Birschbach, Lyle (Carol) Birschbach and sisters-in-law, Sharleen Birschbach, Catherine Birschbach and Janet Birschbach; brother and sisters-in-law, Jerome (Mary Catherine) Sippel, Mary (David) Andrew, JoAnn (Gerald) Halbach, John (Marlene) Sippel, Virgina Schmitz, Alice (Donald) Runge; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Olivia (Michels) Birschbach; stepmother Frances Landreman-Birschbach; son-in law Paul Sanchez; brothers, Charles, Melvin, Franklin, Kenneth, Harold and infant brother Joseph Birschbach; sisters-in-law, Margaret, Rosemary, Karen and Linda Birschbach; stepsister, Jane (Joe) Losh; stepbrothers, Jerome (Madeline) Landreman and Robert (Phyllis, Helen) Landreman; father and mother-in-law, Leo and Antonia (Pauly) Sippel; sister-in-law, Carol Sippel; and brother-in-law, David Schmitz.

Home, 875 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 3:00 to 6:00

p.m. Visitation will also be on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at St.

Mary’s Catholic Church, 59 E. Merrill Avenue, Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will be

celebrated on Monday, December 12, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m.

Entombment will be in the Chapel of the Risen Christ, Calvary Mausoleum.
