Thomas F. Lloyd
Thomas F. Lloyd, 89 years old of the Township of Empire passed away peacefully on May 30, 2015 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac; surrounded by his devoted wife, Jeanette, children and grandchildren. Tom was born on December 13, 1925, the oldest son of Thomas Sr and Francis (Pucker) Lloyd in Fond du Lac. He married Jeanette Ryan at St. Mary’s Church in Eden on September 6, 1947 by Father Thomas. He grew up on the family farm, working side by side with his father, mother, wife and sons. It was a proud moment for Tom when he took ownership of the centennial farm. He was a member of Shepherds of the Hills Catholic Church and the Catholic order of Foresters.
Tom enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting with his sons, the brewers, bowling and trap shooting. Last but not least he enjoyed Jenny’s home cooking. The last few weeks provided his children, grandchildren, family and friends time to visit and reminisce about many great memories. Tom leaves a legacy of a quiet leader that lead by example, not words. As a result he leaves behind a close knit family that will miss his presence during family discussions around the kitchen table.
Tom’s wisdom and wit will be missed by his wife Jeanette of 67 years: thirteen children (twelve surviving), Thomas (Mary) Lloyd, Kathleen (John) Roehl, Susan (Rick) Butz, Michael Lloyd, Patrick (Linda) Lloyd, Stephen (Julie) Lloyd, Mary (David) Jozefowski, Gary (Lori) Lloyd, John Lloyd, Robert (Marie) Lloyd, Bridget (David) Guell and Ann Trombley; 31 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by siblings, Marjorie Devine and Donald (Mary) Lloyd; brother-in-law Karl (Fern) Ryan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son James Lloyd; three grandchildren Brian Butz, Stacy and Tracy Lloyd; two great-grandchildren Isabelle Smith and Angel Jozefowski; mother-in-law and father-in-law Maurice and Violet Ryan; other family and friends.
Visitation will take place on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Shepherds of the Hills, W1562 Hwy B, Eden from 9 AM to Noon followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 PM. Tom will be laid to rest in the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery, Fond du Lac.
The Lloyd family would like to thank Hospice Home of Hope and Saint Francis Home for their dedicated nurturing care they gave Tom during his time there.
