Violet “Vi” F. (Brunet) Blitzke, 86, formerly a resident of Vermont Street, Fond du Lac, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at the St. Francis Home where she resided for 7 years.
She was born December 24, 1925 in Fond du Lac, a daughter of the late Milbert and Esther Robidou Brunet. She was a 1944 graduate of Fond du Lac Senior High School and lived her entire life in Fond du Lac.
On July 27, 1946 she married Frank E. Blitzke at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fond du Lac. After her marriage she was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and had a rich faith in God that un-waivered her entire life.
Vi was a member of the St. Francis Home Choir. She contributed poems for Modern Maturity Magazine and other publications. She enjoyed playing cards, playing the organ and doing handicrafts including quilting and sewing.
Vi was a gentle and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to caring for the needs, comfort and well-being of her family before her own.
She loved her home where she enjoyed endless hours either in her kitchen, sewing room, or her computer room where she was self-taught to proficiently use her computer to its full potential. She appreciated music her entire life and could often be heard playing her harmonica, guitar, accordion, and organ to her heart’s content. For years she volunteered at St. Francis Home playing the organ for the enjoyment of the residents before she resided there.
Survivors include her five children, Kathrine (W. Mike) Brown, Julie (Jerome) Guell, all of Fond du Lac, Joel (Barbara) Blitzke of Glendale AZ, Amy (Bill) Rector of San Antonio and Luke (Mary) Blitzke of Eldorado; eight grandchildren, Todd Brown, Angie Brown, Jodie Blitzke, Jennifer Heer, Jessica Diaz, Jamie Blitzke, Dallis and Max Blitzke; six great grandchildren; one sister-in-law Harriet Schultz of Fond du Lac; other relatives and friends.
