William C. Chapman
William C. Chapman (Bill), 71, of Fox Lake, passed away peacefully at Beaver Dam Community Hospital on Monday August 28, 2017 while surrounded by loved ones.
Bill was born the son of Helen (O’ Brian) and William Chapman on November 6, 1945 in Evergreen Park, Illinois. He married the love of his life Julie Chapman (Custer) on July 28, 1984 who he celebrated 33 years of marriage with after the couple met in Chicago. He dedicated 37 years of his life to the United States Postal Service where he retired in 2000. Bill spent his winter travelling to Florida with Julie where they spent their time enjoying outdoor activities such as long distance biking, camping, kayaking, skiing, fishing, and golfing. Following retirement, he devoted his time to mowing the lawn in specific patterns, working out at the YMCA, playing poker with his Kuno Trail buddies, and a good glass of Crowne Royal Black. He fulfilled a lifelong dream watching the Chicago Cubs win the World Series in 2016. Bill was a friend that a friend would like to have. He dedicated his time and commitment to each and every family member and friend and will be remembered for his sense of humor and witty personality. He was loved by many and will be remembered by all who met him.
Bill is survived by his wife, Julie; daughters, Jamie (Blake Scadden) and Jeanne (Brad Carpenter); grandchildren, Aubrey, Gabby, Hayley, Ashley, Christian, Ethan, Ronan, and Kanan; sister, Linda (Tom Zieske) as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Beaver Dam Oncology staff for their support and friendship.
