One In Custody After Short pursuit On I-41

A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy located a stolen vehicle Saturday, August 20, 2022 on I-41 near County Highway OO that was being tracked by General Motors Company.

The officer attempted to stop the driver of the vehicle but the driver accelerated in an attempt to flee from the deputy.

General Motor Company was in contact with the Fond du Lac County Communications Center and was able to remotely turn on the stolen vehicles hazard lights and disengage the accelerator pedal for the vehicle.

The vehicle rolled to a stop on Highway 41 near Military Rd where a high risk stop was conducted.

The driver was taken into custody without incident. Highway 41 southbound was shut down for traffic for a brief period of time while officers stopped the vehicle.

A 39 year old male from Seymour is being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail on charges of fleeing/eluding and operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent.

There were no reported injuries or property damages for the pursuit.
