Overnight Crashes Investigated By City Of Fond du Lac Police

The City of Fond du Lac Police Department are investigating a pair of overnight crashes in the city Friday, September 2, 2022.
The first occurred on Scott Street at about 9:15 PM when the Fond du Lac County Dispatch Center received a report of a male on a scooter that was struck near Mill Street.
Officers believe that the operator of the scooter was crossing Scott Street when they were struck by a 53-year-old man driving a vehicle westbound on Scott.
The scooter driver was transported to SSM Health/St. Agnes Hospital and then later to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee with life threatening
injuries.
Police are still trying to identify the driver on the scooter, which according to initial reports on the police scanner would be around 19 years old. Police are asking anyone with information on this subject or crash are asked to call the Fond du Lac County Dispatch Center at 920-906-5555.
Just over an hour later a Fond du Lac Police officer came across an individual lying unconscious in the grass at the intersection of Fond du Lac Avenue and County Highway V in the city at 10:34 PM.
The 51-year-old Fond du Lac man had no pulse so the officer began CPR on him until Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue arrived on scene.
Initial investigations into this crash leads officers to believe the man was driving a moped when he hit the curb, ejecting him onto the terrace.
Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue tended to the man until Flight For Life medical helicopter arrived, and transported the man to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee with life threatening injuries.
