Porch Fire At Giese’s Market In Van Dyne
The Van Dyne Fire Department stopped a porch fire from spreading to a store and apartments early this morning.
Around 3:40 AM The Fond du Lac County Communications Center received a call that the back porch of Giese’s Country Market in Van Dyne was on fire.
The person calling was a neighbor and stated there were a total of two apartments above the market and they were unaware if anyone was in them.
When Van Dyne Fire Department got on scene, the porch was fully involved in fire.
With the assistance of Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies, all occupants of the apartments were able to be evacuated.
Van Dyne Fire was able to get the fire out before it spread from the porch to the building.
Multiple other fire departments were paged to assist but they were told to disregard once the fire was out.
It’s unknown at this time what started the fire.
