Fatal Crash On State Highway 26 South Of Rosendale – 26 Closed For Extended Period

A Fond du Lac County man has died in a head-on collision near Rosendale today.
At approximately 12:20 PM the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received reports of a two vehicle crash with injuries on State Highway 26 near the intersection of Triple Kay Road
south of the Village of Rosendale.
Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, along with Village of Rosendale Police Department and Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, deputies located a male pinned in the driver’s seat of one of the involved vehicles.
The man was unresponsive and unable to be removed due to being pinned in the wreckage.
Rosendale First Responders, Rosendale Fire Department, and Ripon Ambulance also responded to the scene and pronounced the unresponsive man deceased.
The other involved vehicle had two occupants from the Edgerton area. Both of which were transported by Ripon Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
According to police and witnesses, the vehicle with the single occupant was northbound on 26 and was having trouble staying in his lane of travel. After going onto the shoulder twice, the vehicle
crossed the centerline and into the path of the other vehicle.
Highway 26 was closed for four hours while emergency crews worked the scene.
