Powerball jackpot over a billion dollars still up for grabs

The Powerball jackpot again went without a winner Saturday night, December 20, 2025, which means Monday’s drawing will be for an estimated $1.6 billion.

This is the first time the lottery has gone to $1.5 billion or higher in consecutive games without a winner in between. The last Powerball jackpot won was on September 6th when the jackpot rose to 1.78 billion dollars. The second largest jackpot in US lottery history.

Though no one won the jackpot in Saturday’s drawing, eight people matched all the numbers except the Powerball for a $1 million prize.

At 1.6 billion, this jackpot rises to the 5th largest US lottery jackpot in history with the largest coming in at $2.04 billion, won in November of 2022 to a southern California winner.
