Promen Drive bridge in Lakeside Park open to foot and bike traffic
The City of Fond du Lac recently celebrated the completion of the Promen Drive Bridge replacement in Lakeside Park with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The new bridge replaces the one originally built nearly 100 years ago in 1927.
The new bridge features a widened roadway, as well as a larger sidewalk to accommodate more pedestrian and bicycle traffic at the park.
In addition to the bridge, residents using the pavilion will notice 12 additional parking spaces to the Lakeside Park Pavilion parking lot, which was also done during the bridge construction project.
At the ribbon cutting it was said that the bridge was only open to foot and bicycle traffic. It wasn’t announced when autos could start using the bridge.
Promen Drive was closed through much of the summer and into fall for the project.
