Ripon Slips By Marian Men
A big second half rally came up just
short as Ripon edged the Marian men’s basketball team 63-61 on Wednesday night
at the Sadoff Gym. Ripon shot 63% in the
first half on their way to a 40-24 lead through the first 20 minutes. The
Sabres clawed their way back into the game, chipping the lead down to 2 with just :07 seconds left. Ripon missed a pair of free throws with :05 second to play but the Sabres couldn’t secure the rebound. It went out of bounds back to the Redhawks and Marian never had a chance to tie or win it at the buzzer. Josh Creed led
the Sabres with 20 points. Alex Stecker
and Campbellsport grad Isiah Daniels each added 10 in the loss. Ty
Sabin led Ripon (2-1) with 23. Marian is
back at the Sadoff Gym on Saturday when they host Northland International. The tip is set for 5pm.
