Senator Baldwin Helps Secure Funding To Improve Public Safety In The Fox Valley
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) announced that Wisconsin has secured funding to strengthen crime prevention efforts, invest in community resources to reduce recidivism, and assist victims. The Fox Valley will receive over $20 million from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs and the Office on Violence Against Women, funded by the Senator Baldwin-supported Fiscal Year 2023 government funding bill.
“To keep our communities safe, we need to both invest in our officers, technology, and tactics that will stop crime today, but also invest in the community resources that will address the root causes of crime and curb dangerous cycles of recidivism,” said Senator Baldwin. “I am happy to help deliver this funding and help our state and local partners keep our neighborhoods safe, reduce crime, and ensure victims get the support they are owed.”
“These grants highlight the importance to public safety of the United States Department of Justice’s investments in criminal justice programs,” said Attorney General Josh Kaul. “From investing in Wisconsin’s anti-human trafficking task force to maintaining current, vital services at Wisconsin DOJ, these grants will help us protect the public and ensure that justice is done.”
