A 50-year-old Ripon woman was flown to a regional trauma center with serious injuries after the motorcycle she was a passenger on crashed Friday night, May 17, 2024 in Fond du Lac County.

At about 9:40 PM, the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received a call reporting that a van and motorcycle collided on State Highway 23 and Rose-Eld Road, east of Rosendale.

Initial reports was that the female passenger was conscious but had a head injury. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies, Village of Rosendale Officer’s as well as Eldorado Fire Department, Eldorado First Responders and North Fond du Lac EMS all responded to the scene.

Due to the seriousness of the woman’s injuries, it was decided to have Flight for Life transport her to ThedaCare Medical Center in Neenah.

Initial investigation into the crash showed the van, driven by a 45-year-old Fond du Lac woman, pulled into the intersection of Highway 23 from Rose-Eld, failing to yield the right of way for the westbound motorcycle operated by 51-year-old Green Lake Man. The vehicles collided and the passenger of the motorcycle was thrown from the motorcycle onto the south shoulder of Highway 23.

The driver of the motorcycle suffered minor injuries and the driver of the van and her passenger did not report any injuries. While the sheriff’s office is still investigating the crash, they say both drivers received citations for their parts in the crash.
