Shredder A Good Investment

An administrator with the state’s Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection says there are steps you can take to protect yourself from identity theft. Frank Frassetto says a shedder is an investment in keeping your personal papers from falling into the wrong hands. He says there is a lot of information you gather on a daily basis and often times you pitch it, but dumpster diving is something that still happens. He also recommends looking closely at your credit card bills and the insurance summaries you receive after a dental or doctor’s visit to make sure someone else isn’t having you pay for their visits too. He also suggests signing up for the no-call list to cut down on unsolicited phones calls and reduce the number of scam calls you may receive.
