Sinkhole forms on County Highway V between Fond du Lac and Eden

The Fond du Lac County Highway Department will be working today to remedy a sinkhole that formed Monday, May 12, 2025, on County Highway V between Fond du Lac and Eden.

Just before 7 PM Monday night, the Campbellsport Ambulance reported the sinkhole as they were returning from a call. The highway department placed barricades around the hole which formed in the middle of the southbound lane just south of the unincorporated town of Marblehead.

It’s unknown what exactly caused the area of dirt under the road to sink, causing the pavement to collapse.
