Source Of Contaminated Peas Being Investigated

Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says they are trying to find out why shelled peas sold at Farmers Markets in Fond du Lac, Green Bay and Madison were contaminated with Salmonella. She says at least seven people from Brown, Dane, Fond du Lac and Rock Counties got ill from eating the peas. State health officials and County health departments spread the word last Friday. Mueller says the shelled or loose peas were sold on Saturday, July 22nd. But she says they want to make sure any peas people purchased at those markets from July 19th to August 5th are tossed out. The warning did not include peas still in the pod or shell.
