Fond du Lac visits Stevens Point. The Cardinals can clinch the VFA-South Championship outright with win, while Stevens Point will become playoff eligible with a victory. Coverage begins at 6:30, kickoff at 7pm on KFIZ.

Girls Volleyball:

Fond du Lac 3, Kaukauna 1 (25-20, 22-25, 25-16, 25-9)

–WLA wins its first ever conference championship in Volleyball. Jena Krueger totaled 10 kills and three aces, Sam Bernhard had eight kills, Lexi Livieri served three aces and had three blocks, Hailey Becker had 29 assists.

Mayville 3, St. Mary’s Springs 2 (18-25, 19-25, 25-17, 25-22, 15-13)

North Fond du Lac 3, Omro 0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-16)

–Jasmine Spittel totaled 17 digs and seven kills along with four service aces for North Fondy. Ashley Now had 10 assists.

Kewaskum 3, Waupun 0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-19)

Central Wisconsin Christian split in their home triangular, losing to Abbotsford 2-0 and defeating Rio 2-0.

Cross Country:

FVA Meet (At Kaukauna):

The Fond du Lac boys placed sixth at the FVA Meet with 139 team points. Kiernan Koepke placed 5th individually with a time of 15:53.

The Fond du Lac girls placed seventh at the FVA Meet with 130 team points. Madison Hughes placed 8th individually with a time of 18:52. Liz Ziegler was 13th with a time of 19:12.

Flyway Conference Meet:

The North Fond du Lac/Oakfield boys won the Flyway Conference Championship, finishing with 27 points. Diego Charbonneau was the medalist for the meet, placing first with a time of 16:48. Xavier Lasse was in third place, Brandon Anderson 7th, Ricky Almaguer 9th, Andrew Forsythe 10th.

In the boys race, Lomira placed 2nd, St. Mary’s Springs 3rd, Mayville 4th, Omro 5th, Laconia 6th and Winnebago Lutheran seventh. Individually, Isaac Shannon finished second for Springs (16:59).

The North Fond du Lac/Oakfield girls finished in 5th place. Faith Peebles was in 4th with a time of 20:54.

In the girls race, Mayville won the conference championship with 60 points. Lomira second, Omro third, Laconia 4th, Winnebago Lutheran 6th and St. Mary’s Springs 7th.

WLA’s Sarah Niehueser took first individually (20:21), Laconia’s Cyna Madigan was second (20:37), Lomira’s Marin Reed was 3rd (20:41). Alyssa Babler was the highest finisher for Springs in 14th place (22:31).

Girls Tennis:

Fond du Lac’s Kellie Hierl won her two matches Thursday at the Girls State Tennis Tournament in Madison to advance to the third round. Hierl defeated Maddi Bremel of Madison West, 6-2, 2-6, 10-4 and Lauren Monette of Pulaski 4-6, 7-5, 6-3. She will take on Logan White of Divine Savior Holy Angels at 10:30 this morning.

Major League Baseball:

National League Division Series (Game 5):

Chicago Cubs 9, Washington 8

–Cubs win the series 3-2, advance to the National League Championship Series to take on the LA Dodgers. Game one is Saturday night.

Tonight, its game one of the American League Championship Series, as the New York Yankees visit Houston. First pitch just after 7pm central time.
