The Packers played mostly
reserves in their 30-8 preseason loss in
City
Aaron Rodgers did not play leaving Vince Young and BJ Coleman to share
time at QB. Young was 14 of 30 for 144
yards. Coleman was 2 of 7 for 19 yards
and an interception. Mason Crosby kicked
48 and 45 yard field goals and Sam Barrington recorded a sack in the end zone
for a safety. The Packers and the rest
of the NFL must cut down their rosters to 53 players this weekend.
NFL Settles Concussion
Lawsuit
The NFL has settled its
concussion lawsuit with more than 4,000 former players for $765 million
dollars. The money will go to helping
former players with medical issues and also for future research. The NFL doesn’t have to admit any wrong-doing
as part of the settlement.

The Badgers host UMass on Saturday

We’ve got a pair of high
school football games on Friday night on the Mountain Dog Media family of
networks. On KFIZ,
Kimberly. Coverage begins at 5:35pm with
the Backyard Grill Kickoff Show. The
game kicks off at 7pm. On K107.1-FM, St.
Mary’s Springs hosts Wautoma. That game
kicks off at 7pm at Fruth Field.

New Holstein went 3-0 at Conference Quad beating Kewaskum, Campbellsport &
Two Rivers. Team
leaders were Tori Zipperer with 41 kills, Hailee Olson with 71 assists, Kelly
Schmitz with 7 blocks, and Alix Cash with 36 digs while Karissa Preston had 28
digs.
Girls Tennis
in the conference. Madie Bahr, Grace
Kisch, Elizabeth Browy, and Toni Winkler picked up singles wins. Annie Hierl and Hannah Grahl won in doubles.
Cross Country
Campbellsport
competed in the Kettle Moraine Lutheran Cross Country Invitational Thursday.
The Cougar boys team placed 6th out of the 18 schools invited with a team score
of 180 points. Senior Sam Candee was the team’s top runner in 14th place, and
Casey Ruplinger finished 18th. Campbellsport did not have a girls’ varsity team
today, but the JV team finished 7th. Top Cougar runner was Toni
Hundertmark in 6th place.
