The Gary Andersen era began in Madison with a 45-0 Badgers win over UMass on Saturday afternoon at Camp Randall Stadium. Melvin Gordon ran for 144 yards and a touchdown. James White added 143 yards and a score, while freshman Corey Clement added 101 yards and a TD. The Badgers host Tennessee Tech next Saturday at Camp Randall. You’ll hear it on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

Girls Volleyball
New Holstein swept matches from St. Mary’s Springs, Freedom, and Demark to take first place at an Omro Tournament on Saturday. Hailee Olson lead the team with 63 assists. Tori Zipperer lead the team with 33 kills while Aubrey Kestell had 20. Kelly Schmitz lead the team with 8 blocks. Alix Cash lead the team with 45 digs while Tori Zipperer had 32 and Karissa Preston had 28. The team now has 9 wins and 0 losses this season.
Cross Country
Fond du Lac had three girls place at a Cross Country meet in West Bend on Saturday. Annie Moore was 2nd place for sophomore girls and 6th place overall for the entire girls meet. Megan Buechel was 7th place for junior girls.
Tommy Letkewicz was 10th place for freshman boys.
