Girls Tennis:

Mayville finished 1-2 at the Jefferson Invite on Monday, defeating Janesville Parker 4-3 and losing to Lake Mills 5-2 and Jefferson 7-0. Sierra Schellpfeffer picked up a pair of wins for the Cardinals in singles play.

Major League Baseball:

The Brewers return to action after an off day Monday with a short two-game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates at Miller Park. The Brewers sit in third place in the NL Central with a 61-59 record, two games up on Pittsburgh, who sports a 58-60 record. Brandon Woodruff takes the mound for Milwaukee tonight while Pittsburgh sends Ivan Nova to the hill. Pregame coverage begins at 6:05 pm, first pitch at 6:40 on KFIZ.

NFL:

The Packers return to the practice field today after an off-day Monday. Up next on their preseason schedule is a road game against the Washington Redskins on Saturday evening. Pregame coverage begins at 4pm, kickoff at 6:30 on KFIZ.

College Football:

Wisconsin football will face Notre Dame in a two-year neutral site series in 2020 and 2021. The school’s officially announced the scheduling agreement in Chicago Monday. The two teams will meet on October 3rd, 2020 at Lambeau Field and September 25th, 2021 at Soldier Field in Chicago. The Badgers and Irish have faced off in 16 previous occasions, with Notre Dame leading the series at 8-6-2. The most recent meeting was in 1964, a 31-7 Notre Dame win in Madison. The game was Ara Parseghian’s debut as head coach for the Irish.

 

NBA:

 

The full NBA schedule for the upcoming season was announced Monday. The Bucks will begin their 2017-18 schedule on the road at Boston, Wednesday, October 18th. That is followed by the home opener Friday, October 20th against Cleveland, a game shown on ESPN, part of 18 Bucks’ games that will be shown on national tv for the season. Defending NBA Champion Golden State will visit Milwaukee once in the upcoming season, on Friday, January 12th.
