Northwoods League:
Fond du Lac Dock Spiders manager Zac Charbonneau recently had a chance to reflect on their first season in the Northwoods League with KFIZ Sports. Fondy’s season came to an end on Sunday with a doubleheader sweep of the Green Bay Bullfrogs. The Spiders won six straight games to end the season, finishing with a 38-34 record overall and a 22-14 second half mark – good for second place in the south division for the second half. Fondy just missed out on the playoffs this season after a three-way tiebreaker for the last playoff spot. That second half success was preceded by a slow start to the first half, which included an early eight-game losing streak. Charbonneau gives credit to the players for that turnaround. He says they really came together and made it a family-like atmosphere in the locker room and played for each other down the stretch. Looking ahead, General Manager Ryan Moede says the team’s 2018 schedule will come out in November and the team will be getting out information for season tickets for next season and more in the near future.
