Another night, another one-run win for the Atlanta Braves over the Brewers, this time a 2-1 win on Tuesday night at Miller Park. The Brewers led 1-0 entering the 7th inning, when Nick Markakis and Adonis Garcia each hit RBI singles to give Atlanta a 2-1 lead they wouldn’t relinquish. The Crew’s lone run came on a Ryan Braun home run in the 4th. Willy Peralta took the loss, he’s now 4-8. Game three of the four game set is tonight, a 6:35 pregame, 7:10 first pitch on News/Talk 1450 KFIZ.

The Packers returned to the practice field last night in their final evening practice of training camp. The team is preparing for their preseason opener against Cleveland Friday night at Lambeau Field. Head coach Mike McCarthy says, there’s still plenty of work to do, and when it comes to quarterback play, he’s not worried about Aaron Rodgers getting reps. He wants to make sure the three younger, more inexperienced quarterbacks get a chance to see action. 5pm pregame for the Packers and Browns Friday night, kickoff at 7pm on News/Talk 1450 KFIZ.


Three Packers players were removed from the Physically Unable to Perform list Tuesday and returned to practice with the team. Linebacker Sam Barrington, Wide Receiver Ty Montgomery and Tight End Jared Cook were all cleared to return yesterday, joining guard TJ Lang as players who started the year on the PUP list, that have been cleared to return. Only Center Corey Linsley, who is battling a hamstring injury and receiver Jordy Nelson who continues to recover from his ACL tear last year as Packers remaining from that original list.

Several fans who traveled to Canton, Ohio for the Hall of Fame game that was canceled on Sunday night because of poor field conditions are planning to sue the NFL and the hall. Attorney Michael Avenatti, who represented ticket holders for the 2011 Super Bowl who wound up without seats in Dallas, said Tuesday that no fewer than 20 individuals have approached him about a class-action lawsuit. He said his firm has fielded another 10 calls about seeking further reimbursements, including travel expenses. Avenatti said his clients are from a variety of states, including Wisconsin and Indiana, who came to see the Packers play the Colts. The game was canceled after paint congealed and hardened on portions of the field at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

Mequon’s Jordan Niebrugge will play in his third straight John Deere Classic this weekend at TPC Deer Run in SIlvis, Illinois near the Quad Cities. He says he knows he’ll have to play well to be in contention. The tournament begins Thursday.
