World Series

It’s Game 1 of the World Series tonight in San Francisco as the Giants host the Detroit Tigers.  San Francisco earned a trip to the Fall Classic with a 7 game series win over St. Louis that wrapped up on Monday night.  The Tigers have been sitting around for a week after sweeping the Yankees in the ALCS.  Barry Zito will get the start for the Giants while the Tigers counter with Justin Verlander.  The first pitch is set for just after 7pm, Wisconsin time.

Guillen Fired

The Miami Marlins have fired manager Ozzie Guillen after just one season on the job.  Guillen was suspended earlier this year after praising former Cuban leader Fidel Castro.  The Marlins had a huge payroll this year and finished just 69-93.

Packers Eye Jags

The Packers have begun preparation for Sunday’s matchup with Jacksonville at Lambeau Field on Sunday.  The Jags are going to be without All-Pro running back Maurice Jones-Drew who has a sprained foot.  He’s now expected to miss multiple games with that injury.  Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert is expected to play.  He left Sunday’s loss to the Raiders with an injury to his non-throwing shoulder.  Sunday’s game kicks off at Noon. You’ll hear it on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.

Badgers vs. MSU

The Badgers will host Michigan State on Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium.  Wisconsin is coming off a big win over rival Minnesota, while the Spartans have to bounce back after getting beat by in-state rival Michigan.  The kickoff on Saturday is set for 2:30pm.  Coverage begins at 12:30pm on KFIZ.
