WAUKESHA, Wis. (SabreAthletics.com) – Senior forward Brittany Syms (Sault Ste.
Marie, Ontario) was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Player of
the Week after leading the Marian University women’s soccer team to a pair of
wins last week, the league announced, Monday, Oct. 6. Syms scored four
goals in two games and the Sabres turned in two 4-0 shutouts against Wisconsin
Lutheran and Concordia Chicago last week. Against the Warriors on Sept. 30, she
registered her first career hat trick, scoring in the 18′, 38′ and 73′. In
a homecoming match-up against the Cougars on Saturday, she continued her torrid
pace by breaking a scoreless tie in the 50′, making her responsible for both
game-winning tallies on the week and earning her second-career NACC weekly
award.
