Strong to severe weather possible Thursday across the area

The National Weather Service says scattered thunderstorms could develop early today, Thursday, September 3, 2026, with a line of strong to severe storms possible this evening and into the overnight hours.

The main threats will be damaging straight-line winds and large hail, although there is also a low potential for a tornado or two.

locally heavy rainfall could also cause urban and small-stream flooding, especially tonight into early Friday morning.

The Storm Prediction Center has Fond du Lac County in a level 2 of their 5 tier severe weather chart and says a stalled boundary across the region could provide the focus for those thunderstorms later today. Some storms could organize into clusters capable of producing strong wind gusts.
