Two Injured When Plane Crashes Into Minivan In Town Of Waunakee
Two people were injured early yesterday afternoon when a plane they were in made an emergency landing on a city street in the city of Waunakee in Dane County.
After the plane made contact with the ground, it crashed into the back of a minivan parked along the street.
The small, single-engine aircraft had just departed from the city’s airport when it lost power and the pilot circled around to look for a safe place to land. Seeing a straight path
along the street, the pilot brought the plane down just before 1 p.m.
Both people on the plane suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.
The Waunakee Police department is investigating the crash and have reached out to the Federal Aviation Administration. The agency confirmed it and the National Traffic
and Safety Board will conduct their own investigation into the incident.
