Two pursuits lead to one arrest early Saturday morning near and in the City of Fond du Lac

Law enforcement in Fond du Lac County had two pursuits happen almost simultaneously early this morning, Saturday, January 27, 2024.

Just after 3 AM, a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officer attempted to stop a vehicle that was eastbound on 23 approaching 41 for a speed violation. The silver sedan then
headed north on Pioneer and then east on Scott Street before officers terminated the chase due to speed and wet road conditions.

As this was happening, a City of Fond du Lac officer had a vehicle take off from a traffic stop on Thomas Street. In this incident, the driver was pulled over for expired registration and had given his drivers license to the officer before taking off. The officer also stated there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

For the same reasons as the county officer terminated their pursuit, the city officer terminated his pursuit as the vehicle started driving recklessly northbound on Berger Parkway.

Knowing the suspects address, a county officer went to their residence where the man was arrested and taken into custody of the city to face charges of eluding an officer.
