Vehicle Strikes Sub-Station

A Friday morning crash had FDL County Sheriff’s Deputies and FDL Fire/Rescue scrambling. A vehicle crashed into a power substation fence near Martin Ave. and Highway 151, on the city’s southeast side.

The 34-year old driver of the vehicle struck a number of power poles, but did not knock down any wires. There was however extensive damage to the front of the vehicle.

Fire/Rescue paramedics treated the driver but details as to the extent of the injuries were not released. Alliant Energy was on the scene to assist in making repairs.
