Wanted man captured after Fond du Lac County high speed pursuit
A driver, pulled over by a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officer for having excessively tinted windows yesterday, took off from the traffic stop after giving the officer a fake name.
The traffic stop took place on northbound 41 near Lost Arrow Road, and while the officer was in his squad car trying to run the name the man gave him, the driver took off.
With the officer now pursuing the man, he used a turn around on the interstate to go south on 41. The vehicle continued south into Dodge County at speeds over 100 mph, and just south of the Lomira exit, the driver lost control of the vehicle and entered the median. The driver was able to gain control and get back onto the highway but then pulled over and stopped.
Other pursuing officers arrived on scene, boxing the vehicle in and the driver was taken into custody.
Once identified, it was learned the 36-year-old Milwaukee man had a nationwide felony warrant for his arrest and was on parole for felon in possession of a firearm.
Assisting at the scene was the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol.
