West Bend Bank Robbery
A 31-year-old
Hartford man is in custody after he allegedly robbed the Westbury Bank on West Washington inlate yesterday afternoon. West Bend Police say the man entered the bank at 5:00 and handed a teller a note demanding money. He left the bank with an undetermined amount of cash. A witness saw him run to a truck parked across the street and head east on West Bend West Washington . The witness gave police a description and officers responded. After a brief pursuit, the man stopped in front of the Fleet Farm parking lot. When ordered to exit the vehicle, the man got out holding a knife to his neck. He refused to drop the knife and cut himself in the neck before he could be disarmed. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of that injury.Police say the man had a warrant from
county for drug possession charges. The Washington County District Attorney’s office will be filing local charges. Milwaukee
