WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament – Day 2:

Division One:

Fond du Lac HS:

Isaac Ortegon lost in the consolation round to Parker Bevilacqua of Mukwonago by a 12-10 decision

Division Two:

Campbellsport HS:

Cade Heisdorf at 126 pounds lost his first match of the day to Walker Ingham of Amery by a 6-3 decision. Heisdorf then lost to Koy Murphy of Freedom in the Consolation Bracket by a 3-0 decision.

Matt Koelbl at 195 pounds won his first match of the day over Justis Knutson of Chetek-Weyerhauser by a 10-6 decision, then lost in the semifinals to Tyler Hannah of Viroqua by a 3-0 decision. Koelbl will wrestle Will Schafer of Belmont/Platteville in the consolation bracket this morning

Chilton/Hilbert:

Zach Boehnlein lost his first match of the day to Jared Lansing of Ellsworth by a 7-1 decision. Boehnlein then won over Zach Pooler of Northwestern in the consolation bracket by a 4-3 decision. Boehnlein will wrestle Andrew Forsythe of North Fond du Lac/St. Mary’s Springs in the consolation bracket this morning.

Kewaskum:

Eric Bauer won two matches on the day to advance to the 160 pound title match in Division Two tonight. Bauer defeated Kale Hopke of Amery by a 7-1 decision, then won over Colton Woracheck of Luxemburg-Casco by a fall in 3:23. Bauer will wrestle Sam Peters of Freedom in the championship

Tanner Goeman lost his first match at 170 pounds to Jared Toenjes of Ellsworth by a 12-7 decision. Goeman then defeated William Waldofski of Barron in the consolation bracket. Goeman will wrestle Quincy Klister of Wrightstown in the consolation bracket this morning.

Kiel HS:

Andrew Schad lost his first match at 120 pounds to Colby McHugh of Freedom by a 5-1 decision. Schad then defeated Devon Harbison of Beloit Turner in the consolation bracket by a 9-2 decision. Schad will wrestle Kaiden Koltz of Wrightstown in the consolation bracket this morning

Lomira:

Alex Gundrum lost to Garrett Moll of Lodi at 132 pounds by a fall in 1:17. Gundrum then lost to Dane Higgins of Medford in the consolation bracket by a 9-7 decision.

North Fond du Lac/St. Mary’s Springs:

Andrew Forsythe advanced to the semifinals at 145 pounds with a win over Zeke Sigmund of Medford by a 7-4 decision. Forsythe then lost to Ben Durocher of Wrightstown by an 11-2 major decision. He will wrestle Zach Boehnlein of Chilton/Hilbert in the consolation bracket this morning

Dalton Fritch lost his first match at 160 pounds Friday to Carter Paulson of Rice Lake by a 20-9 major decision. Fritch then lost to Dean Neff of Jefferson in the consolation round by a 13-12 decision.

Marcus Orlandoni advanced to the semifinals at 195 pounds with a 10-6 decision over Gabe Wertel of Denmark. Orlandoni then lost to Stephen Buchanan of Neillsville/Greenwood/Loyal by a fall in 2:27. He will wrestle Logan Melstrom of Ellsworth in the consolation bracket this morning.

Division Three:

Winnebago Lutheran:

Ryan Jacobs lost his first match at 285 pounds on Friday to Leif Bredeson of Darlington/Black Hawk by a fall in 1:28. Jacobs defeated Wade Stanger of Ladysmith by a sudden victory in the consolation bracket, and will wrestle Mitchell Gore of Athens this morning in the consolation round.
