Wisconsin Foodshare Recipients To Lose Benefits

Starting March 1, extra benefits that were being given out in Wisconsin’s Food Share program as Covid relief, will be coming to an end, cutting food share benefits to the almost 700,000 recipients of the program.
The extra FoodShare benefits were put in place in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Representatives for the group Feeding America said that the average cut will result in about half of peoples benefits being taken away. A situation that will likely send more
people to local food pantries to make up the difference at a time when groceries are so high.
Anyone in need of assistance can go to Feeding America’s website at feedingamericawi.org to find food pantry locations and get help with FoodShare cases.
