Head-On Crash in the Town of Waupun

A man from Ripon was injured in a head-on crash in the Town
of Waupun Saturday evening. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to
the scene on County Highway M near Gallagher Road just before 5:30 pm. Authorities
say 20-year-old Brice Swick of Ripon was driving north on County M when he
crossed the center line and hit a car being driven south by 62-year-old Krisann
Koplitz of Ripon. Both Swick and Koplitz were pinned in their vehicles and had
to be extricated. Swick suffered serious injuries in the crash and was flown by
Flight for Life to Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Neenah for treatment.
Life Star Ambulance transported Koplitz to Waupun Memorial Hospital for
treatment. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and alcohol is not considered a
factor in the crash. Assisting at the scene were the Waupun Police and Fire
Departments and the Brandon/Fairwater Fire Department.
