Salvation Army Gets Big Donation Of Personal Care Products

369 lbs of personal care items donated by Tabor United Methodist Church will fill the personal care and household cleaning supply shelves at The Salvation Army Food Pantry for two weeks.  The pantry serves 900 households, on average, each month.

 Bill and Jan Soyks are members of Tabor United Methodist Church who volunteer regularly in the pantry. The Soyks saw the empty personal care and cleaning supply shelves and took that need to their church.  The church responded, and the Soyks are pictured with the “special delivery” that is the result. 

Fond du Lac County currently does not have a free hygiene and personal care outlet, Salvation Army Social Services Director Ron Jacobson says. Food Stamps do not cover essential items as soap, shampoo, toilet paper, facial tissue, deodarant, feminine products, and household cleaning supplies.  The Salvation Army of Fond du Lac County welcomes donations and volunteer help.
