Markesan Man Suffers Burns In Tractor Fire

One person was taken to the hospital Tuesday (7/5/2022) following a tractor fire near Ripon.

The incident occurred just before 4:55 p.m., on CTH E, with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department notified by a caller, saying they were transporting a male to Ripon Medical Center.

According to the caller, a tractor being operated by the male backfired when the operator was attempting to turn it off, causing a fire, and burning the male on his chest, arms, and head.

According to Sheriff’s log reports, the male victim was then taken to Berlin Hospital for further treatment.

No further information was available Wednesday morning as to the extent of the injuries.
