1-2 Inches Of Rain Still Expected Over Weekend
The National Weather Service is still calling for moderate to heavy rainfall today and tonight. Expected totals of 1-2 inches and pockets of locally higher amounts are possible over the area.
winds will be from the east through today at 15 to 20 miles per hour with gusts as high as 35 miles per hour. With the ground being saturated and high wind gusts, there is
the potential for some trees to be blown over.
While no watches or advisories are out at this time, the weather service says some ponding of water is possible, especially in areas where leaves may be restricting proper drainage of the rain water.
The City of Fond du Lac Department of Public Works put out a statement yesterday asking for the public’s assistance to keep storm water inlets throughout the city cleared of leaves. While they say they will be doing their part in locating and clearing blocked inlets, they say they can’t be everywhere at once and ask for assistance to avoid flooding.
