New specialty plates available in Wisconsin

The Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles has yet another specialty license plate available.

Starting Wednesday, October 9, 2024, The International Crane Foundation license plate became available. Ordering the plate sends a $25 yearly donation to the organization on top of the regular vehicle registration fee for Wisconsin. There is also a one time $15 issuance fee and the plates can be personalized with up to six characters for an additional $15 per year.

The plate has a image of a whooping crane and sandhill crane standing on the far left in a marsh setting with other cranes flying in the distance. The bottom of the plate has the website address savingcranes.org.

International Crane Foundation special license plates must be ordered online at wisconsindmv.gov/specialplates or by mail. Plates will then be mailed to the customer. The new plates bring the number of specialty plates available in Wisconsin up to 55.
