Fire Department quick response keeps house fire from spreading

The quick response from the Brandon/Fairwater Fire Department is being credited to keeping an electrical fire in a Fairwater house from spreading.

Wednesday night. October 30, 2024, just after 8 PM, a call came in from a homeowner at 101 Main Street saying there was smoke and a smell of burning wires in the basement.

When emergency personnel arrived on scene they located an exterior outlet on the backside of the home on fire. Due to the quick response, the fire was unable to spread and was limited to the basement wall.

Also assisting at the scene was Ripon Fire, Alto Fire, Markesan Fire and Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
