14-Year Old Charged With Making Threats Against Kiel High School

Police are referring charges against a 14-year old from Kiel for making terroristic threats.

According to a press release issued Friday by the Kiel Police Department, the School Resource Officer received information for the The Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Office of School Safety, that an anonymous tip had been received, reporting a threat of violence that would occur at Kiel High School next week.

The tip was non-specific, but did contain a claim that there would be acts of violence occurring at the high school on Monday of next week.

An investigation led to local authorities and School District officials being able to determine the tip had originated from the teen who was a student within the district.

The teen did admit that the information provided was false and that he made up the threat of violence at Kiel High School next week.

The juvenile was taken into custody and then turned over to a secure detention facility.
