16-Year-Old Charged With Eluding On Dirt-Bike In City Of Fond du Lac

A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted a person driving an off-road dirt-bike on Johnson Street Thursday night, February 2, 2023 and attempted to pull the person over for illegally
driving on the road.

At approximately 11:52 PM the officer activated his emergency lights and the suspect increased his speed and turned north on Hickory Street.

The driver attempted to lose the officer by traveling off road but got the cycle stuck in a snow bank.

The person took off running and the officer deployed his K9 but the suspect returned to the cycle, got it unstuck and again drove off south on Hickory.

The suspect then cut through a business parking lot and began to travel south on Walnut St. where he crossed Johnson St. and again became stuck in a snow bank while
attempting to leave the roadway to evade the deputy.

The deputy was able to take the suspect into custody at this point without incident.

The driver of the dirt-bike was identified as a 16 year old male from Fond du Lac. He is being charged with fleeing/eluding, and received citations for unauthorized
operation of an off highway motorbike on the roadway and operating an off highway motorbike without required safety certificate. He was then released to his father.
