18-year-old Beaver Dam man taken into custody for shooting

Thursday afternoon, Officers and Detectives from the Beaver Dam Police Department, with the assistance of the Madison Police Department Violent Crimes Unit and SWAT team, served a search warrant in the 9500 block of Watts Road in the City of Verona.
During the contact, the suspect barricaded himself inside the residence. Eventually the 18-year-old Beaver Dam man was arrested in connection with the shooting incident.
He was transported to the Dodge County Jail with charges of Attempted 1st Degree Intentional Homicide, Felony Bail Jumping and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
Just before 1 a.m. on Saturday, officers and an ambulance were sent to 311 north Spring Street, reported to be near the Beaver Dam Library for the shooting.
Officers arrived on scene and applied immediate aid to the victim before the ambulance arrived.
The shooter had reportedly fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
The victim was then transported to a local hospital before being medflighted to a level one trauma center.
