2000 Students Get Back To School Bag Of Supplies

This years back to school Fond du Lac Organization school supply giveaway took place Saturday at the Boys and Girls Club in Fond du Lac.

just over 2000 students from 840 families in the Fond du Lac area had a bag of school supplies waiting for them. The supplies came from donations, which this year, a supply drive took place at Wal-Mart as a fill the bus event.

Between the supply drive and the giveaway, 214 volunteers put in 775 hours to make the event work. Hours that entailed sorting supplies and filling the 2000 bags.

According to the organization, students receiving bags will be attending Fond du Lac, North Fond du Lac, Lomira, Oakfield, Eden, Campbellsport, Rosendale/Brandon,
and many of the area private schools in Fond du Lac county.

To qualify for a bag of school supplies, students must qualify for a reduced or free lunch program at their school.
