2022 Midterm Election Results

The results are in and Wisconsin will stay under Democratic rule as Governor Tony Evers has won over Republican candidate Tim Michels.

Evers won the state by just over 3% but was crushed in the Fond du Lac County polls, losing by a 28% margin to Michels.

According to Fond du Lac County Clerk Lisa Freiberg, 79% of registered voters in Fond du Lac County turned out to vote yesterday, which equates to 47,086 voters. A huge turnout for a mid-term election.

Other notable results include Ron Johnson holding on to his U.S. Senate seat, squeaking by Mandela Barnes by just over a 1% margin. This will be Johnsons third term in the Senate. In Fond du Lac County, Johnson won by almost 50%.

Fond du Lac’s Eric Toney fell to Incumbent Josh Kaul in the Attorney General race, losing by only 1% but swept the Fond du Lac County voting by just under 50%.

On a national level, Control of Congress hangs in the balance early Wednesday as Democrats showed surprising strength, defeating Republicans in a series of competitive races and defying expectations that high inflation and President Joe Biden’s low approval ratings would drag the party down.

With votes still being counted across the country, Republicans still had the opportunity to win control of Congress. But the results were uplifting for Democrats who were braced for sweeping losses.

Here is how Fond du Lac County numbers stacked up:
