2025 Wisconsin gun deer hunting season set to open Saturday
Saturday, November 22, 2025, is the start of Wisconsin’s gun deer hunting season.
The season lasts for nine days, running through November 30th.
A Wisconsin deer hunting license is needed to hunt deer in Wisconsin and can be purchased throughout the season. The cost for Wisconsin residents is $24 which gives you tags for a antlered deer and an antlerless deer. Additional antlerless tags can be purchased for $12. The cost for out of states hunters is $200.
Last year, 189,622 deer were harvested during the gun deer season, which was a 5.2% increase from the 2023 season. This total includes 89,787 antlered deer and 99,835 antlerless deer, representing a 3.6% and 6.6% increase in each category, respectively.
Hunters are reminded they need to wear at least 50% blaze orange or pink above the waist while out hunting.
A list of rules and regulations can be found on the Wisconsin DNR website at dnr.wisconsin.gov/
KFIZ’s Facebook page will have a post where hunters can share their hunting and deer photos.
